Please note all our guests on the walking breaks are very welcome to one walk with our compliments with the exception of the navigation walks which we are happy to book on your behalf.

SATURDAY 3

11:00: 3hr Walk, Mines and Leats of Holne Moor (Combestone Tor) Enjoy a circular route toward Ryder's Hill and Hapstead ford to discover more about the leats and mines in this area.

SUNDAY 4

10:00: 6hr Walk, Around the Swincombe Valley (Princetown) A walk which includes Childe's Tomb one of the few named Kistvaens on Dartmoor.

TUESDAY 6

11:00: 3hr Walk, Meldon's Past Industries (Meldon Reservoir) Learn more about this area and its unusual geology which has led to its various industries.

SATURDAY 10

09:30: 6hr Walk, To the Middle of Nowhere - and back! (Two Bridges) A challenging walk heading towards Fur Tor with an opportunity to discuss the role of blanket bogs as a carbon store. Part of the Exmoor and Dartmoor Low Carbon Festival.

SUNDAY 11

10:30: 4.5hr Walk, Water, Rocks and Railway Lines (Lydford High Down) An excursion to Doe Tor Brook and its source exploring the remains of tin mines, visiting Great Links Tor on the way to the remains of the old peat railway and a Tiger's Haunt.

THURSDAY 15

10:30: 4hr Walk, Bronze, Tin, Peat, Clay, Granite and Man (Ivybridge) The south moor is rich in its history discover more on this walk which takes you out to Western Beacon, Spurrells Cross and Butter Brook. This walk is timmed to coincide with trains and buses arriving at the station.

SATURDAY 24

10:30: 2.5hr Walk, Holne Moor Figure of Eight (part 1) (Venford Reservoir) A walk of 2 halves. Horns Cross and Combestone and back in the morning. Around the reservoir, out to bench Tor and into the woods in the afternoon.

SUNDAY 25

09:30: 3hr Walk, Discovering Fungi (Trendlebere) Introduction to identifying fungi in the company of local guide

10:00: 5hr Walk, Ancient Oaks and Ancient Jokes! (Okehampton Youth Hostel) Enjoy a walk in the company of local guide Tom Soby.

MONDAY 26

10:30: 2.5hr Walk, Snaily House and Laughter Tor (Bellever) Visit Snaily House and hear the story of the 2 old ladies who lived there.

TUESDAY 27

10:30: 3hr Walk, Around the Down Tor Area (Sharpitor) Archaeology abounds in this area discover more in the company of guide Brian Byng.

WEDNESDAY 28

10:30: 6hr Walk, Ryders Ring and Reservoir (Shipley Bridge) A circular walk around the Avon dam focusing on the Archaeology.

13:45: 1.5hr Stroll, Family Introduction to Dartmoor (Haytor, Lower Car Park) the perfect way to start your exploration of Dartmoor.

THURSDAY 29

10:30: 4hr Walk, The Legend of Grey Wethers (Postbridge) Hear about the story of Grey Wethers and see for yourself the illusion created by these stone circles.

SATURDAY 31

10:30: 4hr Walk, Great Views, Great History and Great Beer! (Shapley Common) So much to see, from bronze age settlements, vast areas of tin workings, medieval strip lynchets and a purveyor of beer!

14:00: 2hr Stroll, Myths and Legends (Hound Tor) From hairy hands to headless horsemen, discover some of the myths and mysteries of the moor.
