It is 1925 and the wealth on which Tavistock had been built was suffering a decline. The 7th Duke of Bedford, who had transformed the town with the wealth he gained from the Tamar Valley’s copper and arsenic boom, had long since passed away and the influence of the Bedford’s had come to an end in 1911 when they sold their holdings in the area. The mines had ceased production and the old quays at the dock at nearby Morwellham were silting up….
And so the scene is slowly set, as the light fades and the candles are lit, for the start of a weekend of mystery, intrigue and serious sleuthing at The Bedford Hotel in Tavistock.
Murder Mystery weekend includes:
- Two nights accommodation
- Four course dinner each evening
- Full Devon breakfast each morning
- Entertainment with professional actors both evenings
- Treasure hunt on Saturday morning
